Tree

Sunday 4 March 2012

I took this photo at the New Forest. It was a sunny yet cold afternoon and the place was deserted. I don't even know why I took it...  Maybe I was intrigued by the weathered bench that's ready to offer anyone a place to cool off after a long walk.
I don't really like how the trees look like during winter... I find it depressing.  Perhaps I took this picture imagining how beautiful it would look in a couple of months. I must be looking forward to spring, where everything looks fresh and happy. And the flowers and trees bloom. Not long now, I hope.

I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

  2. The poem made me nostalgic with my elementary and high school days. hahaha. The tree really looks depressing and would really bother a sad soul especially if it's cold winter afternoon. I am looking forward to see how it would look during spring. Can you let us see? hehehe Good day sis
