A Drink or Two

Thursday 5 April 2012

Thank goodness it's the end of the week. The Easter week is the busiest week at work because of the long weekend. One of my colleagues suggested that we head to the pub after work to unwind for a couple of hours. We all thought it was a fab idea and it gave us something to look forward to at the end of the day.

We had a new member of staff and we were glad that she came, it was a nice way to welcome her to the team & to get to know her a bit more. Our manager was also able to join us, as well as our other colleagues that were on annual leave. It was lovely to chat with everyone, had a good laugh & enjoyed a drink or two. A chilled way to end a busy week.

Have a blessed Easter everyone!

Hot Choco

Thursday 8 March 2012

I love hot chocolate. (Adik ang lola sa kape but there are moments where I prefer this over coffee). I love the comforting feeling it gives when you hold a hot mug of hot chocolate on a cold morning. It always reminds me of my childhood days when my dad used to melt pure cocoa tablets to make us these wonderful hot choco.

I normally go for Green and Black's Organic or Cadbury Hot chocolate. But since I love Twinings tea I have decided to try out their Swiss chocolate drink when I saw it on the grocery shelf. It was still nice but it was not as good as my usual brands. It must be a new release coz it was on offer so all in all it was still a good buy. =)

Lovely Cup of Tea

Sunday 12 February 2012

It was another chilled out Sunday (literally, hehe).

We went to church in the morning. It is now part of Poj's routine that he already knows where we are going every Sunday. He even knows the way that as soon as he sees familiar buildings he'll say we're going to church Ina =)

We were suppose to go to town to buy a gift for our Godson's 1st birthday. We wanted to take advantage of ELC's half term toy sale (ELC stands for Early Learning Centre, they are popular for their educational toys and books).  But being a Sunday, all shops open for business no earlier than 11am. And even when the shops are closed, you still have to pay parking fees if you stay there to wait for the shops to open - otherwise you get fined £30 when caught! Mean, I know.

So home we went. But not until after grabbing what we need for our Valentine's dinner from M&S Food. We then had a nice cup of tea from Marks & Spencer café. Hmmm, I love weekend =)

Do You Drink?

Friday 10 February 2012

I don't drink much, I usually just have a glass of wine when we go out for a meal with friends or a couple of cocktails when we go out for drinks - which is not very often.

But today while food shopping, I saw this Sidekick vodka mix drink with toffee flavour. I couldn't help but smile coz I remembered some of my friends in the Philippines (a million years ago) when they went gaga over the flavoured lambanog. Meron pa ba nun ngayon?
Anyway, I thought I could bring this to my friend's house the next time we get together. Apparently it comes in 10 flavours (Choco orange, Cookies & cream, Strawberries & cream to name a few).  I'm not even sure if I'm going to like it coz I'm not a big fan of Baileys. I've read good reviews though, which said it was sweet and tasty but can be too sweet that you could end up drinking more than you planned to.

Kayo, do you drink?
